Farewell Sermon of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

All Muslims are brothers, Arabic has no superiority over non-Arabs and non-Arabs have no superiority over Arabic, yes! Only abstinence is better in the sight of God. ”The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

The days of celebrating Eid-ul-Adha have come. This time we are also facing the Corona epidemic. Therefore, Eid and Hajj are not as colorful as before. By the grace of Allah, we will soon get rid of this epidemic and live like before. On the occasion of this Eid and Hajj, your sermon should be followed, but the need to follow this sermon has never been greater than it is today. In the sermon, you have addressed all kinds of quarrels, quarrels, etc. He also ordered an end to usury and mistreatment of women. He had ordered the promotion of brotherhood. We see that today many deserving people deserve our attention in the world of cosmopolitanism due to the epidemic. Today our courts are full of cases, not a day goes by when we do not see the tragic story of oppression of the weak. That is why we need to take guidance from the Qur'an once again. In the Farewell Sermon, your instructions are the essence of religion.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) actually gave three sermons. He delivered the first sermon on 9th Dhul-Hijjah in Arafat, the second sermon on 10th Dhul-Hijjah in Mina and the third sermon on 11th or 12th Dhul-Hijjah in Mina. At that time, the sea of thousands of people was beating around him. This sermon was given in 10 AH. According to “Sirat-e-Khair-ul-Anam” (once Urdu Encyclopedia of Islam), people were appointed around him who would repeat every sentence of his as loudly as tombs. This was the first and last Hajj of the Prophet after his migration. This Hajj is the completion of the Prophet's life and the completion of the teachings of Islam. Hujjat-ul-Wada 'is very important in the social system. This sermon is important in human training and ethics. This is the basic and most important manifesto of human rights and the essence of religious and moral teachings. This sermon is a practical interpretation of the Sira of the Prophet. In the book "History of Islam", Mohammad Akbar Shah Najibabadi writes: "You should say words in this sermon as if you are saying goodbye to someone or saying goodbye to someone. Therefore, this sermon became known as "Farewell Sermon". In his sermon this year, he preached the rules of Islam.

After praising Allah Almighty, he said: Translation: “People! Listen to me, maybe next year you and I won't get a chance to get together at such a party. Today, I forbid the lives, property and honor of the Muslims from one another till the Day of Resurrection, just as you respect this month and this day. In the same way, you should respect each other's wealth, honor and blood. Anything that is in the lawful possession of one brother is not lawful for another, unless he gives it of his own free will. ”

He said about accountability on the Day of Judgment: “Remember! One day we all have to die and come before God Almighty. Where everyone will be asked about his deeds. "

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said about un-Islamic rituals: Remember, every ritual of the age of ignorance is under my feet, I will put an end to it. The blood feuds of the age of ignorance are ended to this day. In this sermon, Hazrat Akram taught Islamic equality: “All Muslims are brothers. Arabic has no superiority over non-Arabic and non-Arabic has no superiority over Arabic. Yes, only abstinence is better in the sight of God.

Regarding the rights of the weak, he said: “Slaves and women have rights over you. Take special care of these rights. Be gentle with women and be kind. Feed the slaves what you eat and clothe them with the clothes you wear. ”

He said: "Everyone is responsible for what he has done." The son is not responsible for the father and the father is not responsible for the son's crime.

The Holy Prophet said: “People! No prophet will come after me and no new ummah will be born. Listen carefully! Worship your Lord, pray five times a day, fast Ramadan, pay Zakat on wealth happily, perform Hajj to the House of Ka'bah and be obedient to your rulers. His reward is that you will enter the Paradise of your Lord. And I am leaving two things among you that if you hold fast to them you will never go astray and that is the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet (SAW). Reach out to people. It is possible that some of the people present will remember and protect these things better than some of the listeners. O people! Allah Almighty has fixed a proven share for each heir of the inheritance and it is not permissible to make a will of more than one third of the wealth.

“Her child was born in her marriage and a stone for the wicked! Whoever calls someone other than his father a father, then such a person is cursed by Allah and the angels and all human beings. There will be no recompense for it on the Day of Resurrection.

In his sermon, Hazrat Nabi Akram also mentioned four respectable months namely Dhi Al-Qaeda, Dhu al-Hijjah, Muharram and Rajab. He ordered the payment of the trust: "Whoever has a trust in his possession, he should pay it to its owner."

He declared usury to be haraam: “The usury of the pre-Islamic era has been abolished, but you will have the right to capital. You shall not wrong anyone, nor shall you be wronged. "
